Horse powered (treadmill) grain thresher

Fence hole post drill

Foot powered lathe

Pit saw set-up

Wooden geared rope maker
Standing end

Travelling end - demonstrator stands on plank and turns handle- whole apparatus travels forward as twist in rope develops

Cobblestone maker

Knife and other blade sharpener - note water dripping on stone

Several years ago at the festival a fellow craftsman asked me to make a small fish trap to catch sunfish and other small fish in his farm pond.  He never picked up the trap so I kept the trap for display.

Very nice, would you mind sharing the specs on the bream trap?

Thank you.  I have the trap in storage and will have to measure it.   I do not remember the measurements off hand.  Tony

I used heavy gauge aluminum wire rings for the body of the net.  The wire came in loops approx. 9" across so I used that diameter when I made the loops.  the end of the funnel is the wire from a coat hanger bent into a 3' circle,
I used a gauge 3/4" wide.  I made 38 meshes in each row of the trap.  75 rows from the mouth of the trap to the last aluminum ring.
I made 15 rows from the last ring to the end of the funnel.  I made decreases so that there are 20 meshes in the last row.
I used a braided nylon fishing line for the trap.  Not quite 1 mm diameter.

Thanks for the specs! Did you decrease meshes for the funnel?

I gradually decreased the number of meshes so that there are 20 meshes at the smallest ring
