When I start a net bag at the top I have 4 methods I use to finish the bottom.
1. Simple and easy. Weave a cord through the last loops and tie ends together as in this suet bag for feeding birds.
2. In last row eliminate the gauge and tie the sheet bends close together as in this ball carrier
3. In last row switch to slightly smaller gauge and tie the front and back meshes together as in this onion/potato storage bag.
4. In the last row switch to a gauge equal to one leg of the net you are making ( slightly less than 1/2 of the gauge you are using. Do not mesh in a row as usual. Rather go alternating from front mesh to back mesh. Thiis is my favorite method. Looks better than the other methods listed above and is more even than starting at bottom and netting towards the top.
