Here are two examples of long turk's heads used as grips for traditional sailing tools. The first is a seam rubber I made from scrap this weekend, finished with a 16 lead, 3 bight "long" turk's head for the grip, and a standard 3 lead, 5 bight TH at the base:
The second is a 16 inch marlinspike, also with a 16L3B grip, a standard 3L5B TH at the top, and a 5L4B TH at the bottom of the handle.
